'The Mandalorian' Cast Teases Darker Themes For Season 3

The Mandalorian season 3 was officially announced this year at Star Wars Celebration. It will be released in early 2023. The lucky fans that got to attend the panel were shown a teaser trailer. In the teaser, Mando and Grogu were reunited, and fans noticed that Bo-Katan may be the antagonist this season. The new season will also show us live action Mandalore. Many have pointed out how dark the new season looks.

The stars of The Mandalorian, Pedro Pascal, Giancarlo Esposito, and Carl Weathers all spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the new season. "Three is even better than the previous one," Pascal told them. Pascal is also excited for Grogu's and Din's relationship to evolve. And he's excited to see Grogu's powers grow. Weathers said that "season 3 is fuller…it's dense with a lot of action but also character". Weathers also had fun digging deeper in his character's story. As a director, he also had the pleasure of exploring other characters' stories further. Katee Sackhoff also described the season as "dark". Bo-Katan has unfinished business this season. She's been continuing to find who she is, and grow into that person. Esposito said that "it's just an expansion in many ways from last season". It's assumed that Moff Gideon is behind bars, and that he's not just "sitting idly by". Esposito says we could see an opportunity to break the chains that bind him.

We also saw the return of Boba Fett. While season two of The Book of Boba Fett is still up in the air, his story is still unfinished. Temuera Morrison says "It’s out of his control what happens" but Boba needs to go back to his "badass self". I hope we get to see him in season 3 of The Mandalorian.

The Mandalorian season 3 premieres in early 2023, and I personally cannot wait. This season also appears to be much darker and I am ready. I am very excited to see where this season will go, and that we get live-action Mandalore. Whatever happens, I hope my favorite little green alien stays safe.
