Since it was announced, fans of Indiana Jones have been anxiously awaiting a sneak peek into the franchise's next installment. Well, it’s time to dust off your whip and fedora because the film’s legendary composer, John Williams, gave audiences a sneak peek a few nights ago. While it may not be footage, it’ll still be sure to excite.

On September 2nd Williams gave fans a taste of the film's music by debuting “Helena’s Theme” while playing at the Hollywood Bowl. This theme, written for Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s new character, is beautifully performed and feels especially reminiscent of “Marion’s Theme” and slightly like that of “Princess Leia’s Theme” from the Star Wars franchise. Little is known yet about the film or her character, though Williams has described her as “an adventuress” and “a femme fatale.” Before beginning the orchestral performance, Williams explained:

"[I was] having a chat with our wonderful director Jim Mangold, who's the most fantastic man, and last week as we recorded the music, Jim said, 'Why don't you play it at the Bowl next week?' I said, 'Well, Jim, the picture's not coming out until next year.' 'That doesn't matter! Play it at the Bowl!' So here is Phoebe's theme."

Indiana Jones 5 is set to release June 30, 2023, starring Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Mads Mikkelsen, and be directed by James Mangold.
