Music has always been an important part of Star Wars. John Williams has composed some of the most iconic scores for the movies, but the music in the world of Star Wars is just as important. Most famous, is the Cantina Band, who fans see in A New Hope. There is another music group within the Star Wars universe that is most known for their jizz style of music, they are called the Max Rebo Band and are one of the most famous bands in the galaxy.

The band achieved its well-known status thanks to Jabba the Hutt. They were his house band and even played on his barge until his death at the hands of Leia Organa. The group consists of Evar Orbus, Max Rebo, Sy Snootles, and Droopy McCool. Snootles and Orbus used their vocal talents to dazzle audiences, while Rebo and McCool would provide the instrumentals.

The group, led by Orbus, started out touring in small cantinas and venues in the Outer Rim. They soon built up a following. The band had many hits throughout their career, but in the beginning, Orbus was the only one to get paid, due to his shady business contacts. After a few years of touring, the band got the opportunity to perform at Mos Eisley Cantina on the planet of Tatooine. However, the leader of the current cantina band, The Modal Nodes, did not appreciate that a second band was hired and he attempted to kill them. Unfortunately, Orbus did not survive the fight that ensued. The remaining members of the band, however, let the leader of The Modal Nodes keep his job.

After losing a member, the band knew they needed a new gig. Snootles knew that Rebo could be easily manipulated, allowing him to become the new leader of the group. She did this so that any further assassination attempts, would ensure that Rebo would be the one targeted. They eventually hired some backup dancers and fellow musicians. They auditioned for Jabba the Hutt, and he was impressed immediately. He offered them a lifetime contract, and instead of being paid money, they would be paid in food. Max Rebo immediately accepted Jabba’s offer. Snootles later said how she was unhappy that Rebo took the proposal, as it led them to eternal servitude. However, their lives weren’t all bad. They were allowed to leave the planet, and even accept tips. They were even sent to Hoth to perform for Bingo Mehndra on the crime lord’s Spawning day. It turns out, they were sent to kill him. McCool discovered the explosives hidden in the speakers, so they decided to play a holovid of a previous performance to escape. Jabba was so impressed with them, that he bought them new instruments, and gave them two new band members as well. The band later played on Jabba’s barge and during his execution. They barely escaped, jumping to safety as the Sail Barge blew apart.

After Jabba’s death, and release from their contract, the band split apart. Max Rebo went on to join the Rebel Alliance and would play for troops while enjoying their food. He relocated to Coruscant after the formation of the New Republic and started a restaurant called Max’s Flangth House. Rebo eventually relocated to Tatooine once again, where he played for Garsa Fwip, the owner of the Sanctuary cantina in Mos Espa. After the explosion of the Sanctuary cantina in The Book Of Boba Fett, Max Rebo’s fate is currently unknown.  Unfortunately, the others were not as successful. Sy Snootles became a spice addict and was never able to reclaim her past fame. Droopy McCool wandered into the Tatooine desert wastes and was never heard from again.
