It has been rather hectic on the Marvel Studios front since their conference at San Diego Comic-Con, during which Kevin Feige revealed what movies are yet to come to the MCU. For this event, it was especially expected for Marvel to give further information on upcoming  Disney+ shows and movies like She-Hulk and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which are set to end Marvel’s Phase 4 this year.

The success of the original Black Panther (2018) movie was reason enough for the fans to expect a new sequel, especially because its characters have been such great additions to the MCU since their first appearance in Captain America: Civil War. However, since the premature death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020, the fans have wondered how the studio would handle the latter’s passing in regards to their movie, mainly since it has been announced that director Ryan Coogler would not recast the role of T’Challa.

During SDCC, Marvel released a teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel, and while the latter is very emotional and glorious, it does not provide further information on who will take on the mantle of King, and more importantly, who will become the next Black Panther. Instead, the trailer gives us a new look at Namor the king of Talocan, an underwater city. It also showed us a conflict between the Wakandans and the people of Talocan, and finally, it gave us a quick look at the Black Panther suit. But who is hiding underneath that suit?

Well, recently, new official images of three LEGO Marvel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sets released on the LEGO Building Instructions page, seem to reveal who will be wearing the Black Panther suit. According to the insider website The Brick Fan, these sets are tied to the sequel and show a new look at Namor, Nakia, Riri Williams and Shuri who is wearing what seems to be a Black Panther suit.

However, this has to be taken with a grain of salt for as you can see, even though we can notice similarities between the suit from the trailer and this one, like the golden colours for instance, in these images Shuri is not wearing a helmet and is equipped with her energy blasters that she also used in the first movie. If this is a Black Panther suit, perhaps they took off her helmet for a marketing purpose, so we could make the difference between her and T’Challa’s Black Panther. And since we are talking about Shuri, she might have also upgraded the suit with blasters. Who knows? Ultimately, the only way to find out the identity of the new Black Panther is to watch the movie.
