Gaming giants Atari and Activision are joining to bring gamers 39 classic Atari 2600 titles back to physical cartridges, marking the pair's first joint hardware release since Activision's founding in 1979. The Atari x Activision Collection went up for pre-order on August 26, 2026, on atari.com. The lineup will release classics such as Pitfall!, River Raid, and Kaboom!, alongside Megamania, Enduro, H.E.R.O., Pressure Cooker, Private Eye, River Raid II, Keystone Kapers, The Activision Decathlon, and Pitfall II: Lost Caverns, amongst other iconic titles. They are splitting the collection into three tiers: The Standard Edition cartridges cover 12 of the 39 games at $34.99 each and are scheduled to ship in November 2026.
Four Deluxe Box Sets, themed Treasure, Speed, Secrets, and Victory, round out the full 39-game lineup at $249.99 per set. The Treasure set ships first in late November, with Speed, Secrets, and Victory following through 2027. Collectors after the whole collection can preorder the Complete Collection for $999.96, which bundles all four Deluxe sets with a currently unannounced collectible. Every cartridge comes with a woven patch, an enamel pin, and metal trading cards. All titles work on the Atari 2600+ and Atari 7800+ consoles, as well as original 2600 and 7800 hardware. Each cartridge uses the same 24-pin edge connector standard Atari introduced in 1977, making these genuine physical reproductions rather than USB or memory-card devices.
