Avatar: The Way Of Water Trailer Released

Avatar: The Way Of Water

It’s finally here! 13 years after Avatar hit theaters introducing us to the world of Pandora and its inhabitants, the trailer for the first sequel Avatar: The Way of Water has dropped online. What can we say? With a name like The Way of Water, you’d expect a lot of underwater sequences, and with the teaser, James Cameron gives us lots of stunning underwater sequences.

If you thought Pandora’s deep and dense rainforests were something to marvel at, wait until you see the beautiful aquatic regions. Although it all looks serene and idyllic, we are quickly reminded during all is not well. Jake and Neytiri Scully(played by Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana) have children to protect now, as well as the planet from the ruthless humans.

The most curious aspect is that Na’vi appears to be working with the humans, hunting down Jake and Neytiri. Whether they are avatars or natives remains to be seen. Family is a key theme in the film as the trailer ends with Jake stating “This family is our fortress”.

While it’s good to see that the CGI has improved and that Pandora’s landscapes and inhabitants have been expanded upon, there’s not a lot of meat to really chew over. Hints and promises.

You can take a look at the trailer below.

We will find out if all the time and work James Cameron has put into Avatar: The Way of Water over the years is released on December 16th, to find out if the wait really was worth it.
