DC Comics Unveils A New ‘The Sandman’ Trailer at San Diego Comic-Con

While we keep seeing articles and online rumblings discussing the on again, off again relationship with Zack Snyder and the “Snyderverse”, DC has shifted their focus to some of their other properties which people may not realize fall under their ownership. This weekend is the gold standard of Comic Cons with San Diego Comic-Con taking place so while we are being inundated with news and trailers from all major studios and companies, a release of The Sandman coming exclusively to Netflix is certainly catching the eye of many fans of the comic and fantasy alike.

In the more formal trailer from Netflix and DC, we get a better understanding of what the series will be about. In it, we see the titular character, The Sandman aka Dream played by Tom Sturridge, working with various mystical creatures and characters to put a stop to Boyd Holbrook who seems bent on keeping dreams from ever existing.

Netflix will be releasing the series beginning on August 5 and the first season is expected to be 10 episodes. Neil Gaiman the original creator of the comic series in the late 80s to mid-90s is onboard for the series run and many genre actors from Patton Oswald, Jenna Coleman and Gwendoline Christie are all appearing in the series.
