It seems nowadays video game sequels take years to release. It makes sense though, as you want to release a good game, without subjecting your workers to crunch either. One of these long-awaited installments is in the Dragon Age series. Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will be the newest game in the series, and will take place after the events of Dragon Age: Inquisition. It seems that fans may not have to wait too much longer for this game, according to a new listing.

The game has been in development for a few years now, and while there is still no official release date, a new listing from Kevin Scott, a Senior Cinematic Animator at EA has listed the game as releasing in 2024 on their LinkedIn profile. In the experience section on his profile, he put ‘animated gameplay characters using mocap and hand-keyed animation for Dragon Age (2024)”. While this isn’t official confirmation that we could be getting this long-awaited next installment, it is enough to get fans excited.

This isn’t the first time either that there have been reports that the game could be released soon. In May of this year, EA confirmed that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is at least a year away, in the company’s Q4 and FY23 financial reports. In the report, the studio listed all of the games it plans to release in the next 12 months, and Dragon Age was nowhere to be seen.

While this doesn’t necessarily mean we will get the game next year, Games if we do, we won’t see it until after May 2024. Things can always change, however, and there have been changes within BioWare as well, such as internal delays and multiple layoffs. At this point, it’s just a waiting game to see when an announcement will be made about the game’s release.
