The television series 1923, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, was confirmed for a second season earlier this year, and filming was meant to start on June 5, 2023. This has been postponed while the Writers Guild of America strike continues, according to the Montana branch of NBC. The Civic Center where filming was meant to occur is ready to go when filming and development can resume, and production has already requested a contract extension for the location.

The WGA officially went on strike on May 2, 2023, after contract negotiations with the Alliance Of Motion Picture And Television Producers failed to reach a favorable conclusion by the deadline. Their main goals revolve around a fairer pay structure in the age of streaming services, better pay for their work, regulations regarding AI, and preserving writing room standards. Should the Screen Actors Guild of America and AMPTP not reach an agreement with their negotiations by the end of the month, the group may join the WGA in the strike as well.

1923 is a prequel to the Paramount series Yellowstone.  The series follows the early generation of the Dutton family as they face down challenges of the early 20th century. The first season can be streamed on Paramount+. The earlier seasons of Yellowstone can be streamed on Peacock, while the latest can be found on Paramount+ as well.
