Unrequited love is in the air as Jack Black’s “Peaches” from The Super Mario Bros. Movie lands a spot on the Billboard Hot 100!  The chart dated April 22nd clocks Black’s song in at spot 83, joining artists like NF, Lizzo, and Lady Gaga for a memorable occasion.  This is the first solo score for Jack Black, but it isn’t the first time he’s been on the chart.  Joined by Kyle Gass to form Tenacious D, they peaked at number 78 with “The Pick of Destiny” in 2006.

The song was co-written by Black and produced by John Spiker, bringing a fun element to the film that exposes the emotional side of the Koopa King.  This may not be the last time you hear about the love ballad either; “Peaches” is eligible for Oscar consideration under the Best Original Song category!
