A brand new official trailer and poster for The Mandalorian and Grogu have been released by Star Wars today. The cinematic new trailer reveals Embo as one of the film’s main villains. Embo was a bounty hunter who was last seen in The Clone Wars, and he’s on a collision course with Din Djarin in the film’s new trailer, which also features new looks at Zeb Orrelios, Colonel Ward, The Hutt Twins, and Rotta the Hutt. The trailer features several scenes of Din Djarin without his helmet, confirming that Pedro Pascal’s presence will be integral to the film’s storyline, and the plot will allow him ample opportunities for screentime. Based on how good this trailer looks, this could be the biggest blockbuster of Pascal’s career.
It seems that all the anxiety about the film’s visuals and effects was for nothing, as the new trailer is visually impressive. The action scenes involving Din and Grogu differ from the series, and Grogu appears stronger and more in control of his Force powers. The trailer shows him putting on his armor for what seems like a possible mission to rescue his father from Embo, or another threat. There’s an emotional dialogue where Djarin tells someone that he won’t always be around to protect the kid, who will outlive him by centuries. This line is sure to get fans a little emotional, but Djarin may have protected Grogu long enough, because now it’s his son’s turn to protect him. This trailer leaves very little to be desired, but it will make the 3 months’ wait until May 22 seem a lot longer. The Mandalorian and Grogu is directed by Jon Favreau, and stars Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and Jeremy Allen White.
