It’s always good to have an official confirmation of something, and Sigourney Weaver has officially confirmed that Pedro Pascal is in The Mandalorian and Grogu. While this piece of information has been obvious since Pascal and Weaver appeared together during Star Wars Celebration Japan in April, a few people may have been in doubt about whether the actor spent time on set. Now, via her latest interview with Collider, the legendary actress confirmed Pedro Pascal’s involvement in the next Star Wars movie. Weaver was asked how her Star Wars film compares to Andor, which is Lucasfilm’s most recent success.
The question might have come as a surprise to Weaver, as The Mandalorian has received its share of critical appreciation, awards, and accolades. Still, the actress defended her upcoming Star Wars movie, and when she was asked if it would be as good as Andor, she said, “It won’t be as good as The Mandalorian and Grogu, just letting you know.” Weaver added that the Mando movie is a “different world”. However, when Collider’s Steve Weintraub compared the two based on their themes, with Andor being serious and intense, and The Mandalorian being just “fun time at the movies”, Weaver didn’t seem to agree with his opinion. She said, “Well, let’s see, shall we? I’m sure it will be at least that, and it will have Pedro Pascal.”

With that came the much sought-after confirmation of Pascal’s physical presence on set, the proof of which was presented by the actor at Star Wars Celebration, where an image of him in the Mandalorian armor, sans helmet, was revealed exclusively to fans. Pedro is currently one of the biggest names in Hollywood, and the last time he spent a lot of time in the Mando suit was for The Mandalorian Season 2, which turned out great. This means next year’s movie should also be just as satisfying for loyal fans of the series. Hopefully, with only 8 months left, Lucasfilm will begin to ramp up promotion of their next movie release. The Mandalorian and Grogu premieres in theaters everywhere on May 22, 2026.
