Revealed last year at Gamescom, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction featured as part of IGN Fan Fest with a new trailer that showcased the gameplay of this 2D brawler. Along with the release date for the game.
Developed by Bitmap Bureau and published by Limited Run Games, the synopsis of the game reads, “When Skeletor uncovers the ancient Dragon Pearl of Destruction, a relic of unspeakable power, he joins forces with Evil-Lyn, plotting to perform a ritual that will plunge all of Eternia into eternal darkness! Only He-Man, Man-At-Arms, and Teela can save the planet from certain doom.” Along with those three mentioned heroes, She-Ra can be unlocked to play as in subsequent runs.
The game is built to honour the original 80s series with bold colours, dramatic poses, and larger-than-life energy. Bitmap Bureau have carefully crafted the experience to capture that magic, delivering tight, responsive combat to bring players into the universe, whether solo or in 2-player co-op. Villains such as Beast Man, Trap Jaw, and Shokoti appear across the adventure, with He-Man able to use his faithful feline companion, Battle Cat, across the 12 levels.
Get adventuring across Eternia when He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction arrives on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on April 28.
