'Star Wars: Visions' Drops Trailer For 'The Ninth Jedi'

It turns out the future of Star Wars is in anime. After the success of Star Wars: Visions, Lucasfilm is giving one character her own limited anime series, Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi.
Lucasfilm described the series: “Part of an all-new Star Wars: Visions Presents banner, which will be used to tell longer-form Star Wars: Visions stories, the limited series picks up not long after the events of the Visions shorts: ‘The Ninth Jedi’ and ‘The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope.’

In the new series, Lah Kara continues to train in the ways of the Jedi under Margrave Juro. Kara goes on an epic journey of self-discovery as she and Juro’s small fellowship of Jedi-in-training embark on a quest to save her father.”

To promote the series, Lucasfilm dropped a new trailer. The trailer begins with a voice claiming the Jedi and the Sith have disappeared. After shots of spaceship battles, the trailer zooms in on Kara’s face. An older man reveals himself to be a Jedi and encourages Kara to join the cause. Nawaam appears as a hologram and promises to bring order to the world, setting him up as the Darth Vader archetype. The most interesting moment comes when Nawaam acquires a lightsaber that reflects the user’s heart, and it glows blue, setting up an inner conflict for Kara. The Ninth Jedi premieres on Disney Plus on August 5.
