Night City lives on, and a new story is about to unravel, as Netflix, CDProjekt and Studio TRIGGER unveiled the first teaser for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II.

Following the bitter end of the 2022 anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, many were left wondering if, or how, the series could continue. The answer would come as we learned that the series would become an anthology, with Edgerunners II telling a new story with new characters, who will be facing down the horrors of Night City.

Ahead of the trailer, fans got a first look at our new cast of characters, and a little insight into their pasts and the arcs that are ahead of them. Per CDProjekt, the new cast consists of:

“Weak Kingsley (voiced by Kentarō Tone/Clancy Brown): Once known as ‘The King,’ a veteran Edgerunner who now lives in the shadow of his former glory.”

“D (Kōki Uchiyama/Nazeeh Tarsha): A Snake Nation netrunner who hunts the killer that wiped out his clan.”

“Talia Yang (Akari Kitō/Kimoy Lee): She hails from the corpo towers…but her heart belongs to chrome and violence.”

“Roman Carax (Momoka Terasawa/Valeria Rodriguez): A young cinephile in search of real stories in a city that has abandoned cinema for braindances. Obsessed with documenting the truth and following the lives of other people.”

The teaser, while revealing very little plotwise, promises all the chaos, blood, chrome, explosions, and emotional damage that made Edgerunners Season 1 so beloved, and then some, with Kai Ikarashi (director of Edgerunners episode ‘Girl on Fire’) stepping into the director’s chair, picking up the baton from Hiroyuki Imaishi, and Bartosz Sztybor returning as showrunner. The first episode of the season is set to premiere this July at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, the very place the season was announced last year.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II is set to release on Netflix this Fall. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is available to stream on Netflix.
