The upcoming HBO Harry Potter streaming show adaptation has announced that it has found the three actors that will play the three leads for likely years to come.
Casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann led the intensive search for those three actors, and they are: Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter. Each is relatively unknown, with Ron being Stout’s first role. Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer and director Mark Mylod added a note of thanks near the end of the announcement with regard to all of the children who auditioned.
The three young actors join a coalescing main cast of the show’s teachers, including John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McConagall, and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.
