The Mission: Impossible movies are arguably some of the most iconic pieces in Tom Cruise’s repertoire. The first film, starring Cruise as IMF agent Ethan Hunt, was released in 1996. They are still going strong to this day, with the seventh installment coming out this year.  If it’s up to Cruise, the films won’t be slowing down anytime soon!

In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, the actor stated, “Harrison Ford is a legend, I hope to be still going, I’ve got 20 years to catch up with him. I hope to keep making Mission: Impossible films until I’m his age.” The actor is currently 61 years old, and with the type of movies that the Mission: Impossible franchise makes, it is more than possible for the actor to keep going. Cruise is famous for doing a lot of his own stunts as well, so physically, he is in fairly good shape to continue making the movies as well!

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One hits theaters on July 12, 2023. The film follows Hunt and his Impossible Mission Force team “must track down a dangerous weapon before it falls into the wrong hands,” according to IMDb. Part Two is currently looking at a 2024 release. If you want to catch up on the film franchise before the latest installment, you can rent the movies through Amazon or stream them from Paramount+.
