Do you want to see the The Super Mario Bros movie without having to pay the still-raising costs for a ticket? How about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem? Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny? Elemental? Do you want to maybe sneak in a Barbenhiemer? Well, doing all of that will be a lot more affordable on National Cinema Day.

3000 cinema locations in Canada and USA will be celebrating the event on Sunday, August 27th this year. During this special day, tickets will cost a much more reasonable $4 each. This even includes movies that will be released on that upcoming weekend, including Grand Turismo, Based On A True Story, Bottoms, and The Hill. Most theatre chains, as well as many independent cinemas, are participating.

This will be the second time the day is celebrated, with last year having kicked off the event. A total of over 8 million people in the two participating countries, making it the day with the largest theatre attendance in all of 2022. With ticket prices that were then $3, there was a total of over $24 million made that day.
