PlayStation has revealed a glimpse at its newest game, Aliens: Dark Descent. The game was developed by Tindalos Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment.

From the looks of it, it features a good variety of enemies and weapons for the player to use, and, of course, plenty of aliens to fight. According to Steam’s description of the game, it could be a good opportunity to put into practice years of watching Ridley Scott’s Alien films. Take a look at the gameplay trailer below:

RELATED:

The trailer is mostly cinematic action to display the different types of enemies and scenarios players will face during the campaign (likely to be cutscenes). But the actual gameplay is interesting; it differentiates itself from other triple-A games by having a “view-from-the-top” style. It also is more strategy-focused, requiring gamers to think carefully about their next actions. As the game points out, each choice has a consequence. Steam’s description gives the public a good idea of what is coming:

“In Aliens: Dark Descent, command a squad of hardened Colonial Marines to stop a terrifying Xenomorph outbreak on Planet Lethe. Lead your soldiers in real-time combat against iconic Xenomorphs, rogue operatives from the insatiable Weyland-Yutani Corporation, and a host of horrifying creatures new to the Alien franchise. You are the commander. They are your weapon. Customize your squad with a selection of different classes. Level up and specialize your soldiers with unique abilities and an arsenal of weapons, armor, and perks, for high-stakes missions in treacherous territory. Develop your base to research new tech and improve your squad even further. Manage your resources wisely and take calculated risks to outsmart the deadliest creature mankind has ever faced.”

Players from all over the world, get ready; the game was released on June 20th. Think tactically, and mainly, have a lot of fun!
