Hey, howdy, hey, everybody! Welcome to a brand new episode of A Trip To The Trailer Park! This week was insanely exciting for movies of all kinds! Disney dropped two highly anticipated trailers that seemingly put all worries to rest overnight. It was also a big week for women directors, which is always a good thing! As always, we’ll be taking a look at blockbusters, indie films, and smaller-scale movies alike! Be sure to watch this space for future episodes!

Now, onward to the five most notable movie trailers of the week!

The Mandalorian and Grogu (Dir. Jon Favreau)

The New Republic is trying to prevent another war, and they need Din Djarin and his apprentice Grogu’s help to do so. Their new mission takes them to faraway worlds as they encounter Imperial remnants, sleazy criminals, greedy Hutts, and giant monsters. Starring Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and Steve Blum, and directed by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian and Grogu fly into theaters on May 22nd.

Toy Story 5 (Dir. Andrew Stanton)

Bonnie Anderson is growing up fast, and Jessie and the gang aren’t prepared. When a new electronic device named Lilypad comes into Bonnie’s room, Jessie and Buzz reunite with their old pal Woody to stop Lilypad from stealing Bonnie away. Starring Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Greta Lee, and Conan O’Brien, and directed by Academy Award winner Andrew Stanton, Toy Story 5 falls with style into theaters on June 19th.

Slanted (Dir. Amy Wang)

Joan Huang is a Chinese-American teenager who wishes she fit in. When her desire to be voted Prom Queen gets the best of her, she undergoes ethnic modification surgery. Little does she know that her life is about to get a whole lot stranger. Starring Shirley Chen, McKenna Grace, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Fang Du and directed by Amy Wang (her directorial debut), Slanted will be released in theaters on March 13th.

Is God Is (Dir. Aleshea Harris)

A pair of twin sisters, fed up with the constant abuse they face at the hands of their father, must decide whether or not they should find peace or kill him. Starring Kara Young, Mallori Johnson, Sterling K. Brown, Vivica A. Fox, and Janelle Monáe, and directed by Aleshea Harris (her feature directorial debut), Is God Is will be released on May 15th.

Forbidden Fruits (Dir. Merideth Alloway)

In the basement of a mall store after hours, Eden employee Apple leads a secret coven of witches known as the "fruits." But when newcomer Pumpkin questions their sisterhood, the women must confront their inner demons or face a deadly fate. Starring Lili Reinhart, Lola Tung, Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, and Emma Chamberlain, and directed by Meredith Alloway (her feature directorial debut), Forbidden Fruits will be released in theaters on March 27th.
