As Netflix’s Wednesday continues to take social media by storm, many fans have begun wondering who its star, Jenna Ortega, is and where they’ve seen her before. The young actress has more than a decade of acting credits under her belt, and many of them might surprise you!

Starting with smaller roles in movies like Iron Man 3 and Insidious: Chapter 2 and television shows like Nickelodeon’s Deadtime Stories, and Disney’s Elena of Avalor: Discovering the Magic Within, it wouldn’t be until 2018 that she would start to hit the radar of mainstream audiences when she played Ellie in another hugely popular Netflix show, You, Now at just 20 years old, the actress has taken over Hollywood, even being named “The Next Big Thing” by The Hollywood Reporter and “Future Icon” by InStyle

The actress has been working tirelessly on multiple projects, including the 2021 film The Fallout, which explores the aftermath of school shootings on the young adults that survive. However, her roles in recent horror films are what make her a household name. The actress starred in The Babysitter: Killer Queen, the newest addition to the Scream franchise, and A24’s X, which has secured her the title of a scream queen, putting her with the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Neve Campbell, and Heather Langenkamp. She further secured this title with her outstanding portrayal of Wednesday Addams. 

Fans of the actress have a lot to look forward to as she has recently finished filming Scream 6. According to her IMDb page, she also has two other projects currently in the works! We are also anxiously awaiting a Wednesday Season 2 announcement from Netflix, which is almost guaranteed with the amount of hype the show has gotten in just a few weeks since it has been released.
