Who Is Wanda Sykes In 'The Bad Batch'? All You Need To Know About Phee Genoa

Season 2 of The Bad Batch finally had its two-episode premiere on January 4th. We saw the Clone Force 99 back in action and taking a job from Cid. If they succeed at this job, they will finally be off the Empire’s radar for good. Before they agreed to the job, however, Cid introduced them to the “most trustworthy pirate she knows,” Phee Genoa, played by Wanda Sykes.
Phee is a brand new character in the Star Wars universe. Cid and Phee appear to have been friends for a long time. Without giving too much of her intentions away, she approaches Cid about hiring the clones to recover Count Dooku’s war chest. She is the reason why the Bad Batch ended up going to Serenno, and getting into the mess there.

She is described as a mix between Han Solo, Jack Sparrow, and even pirate Anne Bonny. Phee is a pirate, who considers herself a treasure hunter. Supervisor director and executive producer Brad Rau said that Phee was created to “give guff to Cid in the series.” We first meet her with her feet up on Cid’s desk, which allows us to glean what kind of character she is.
We were only introduced to Phee Genoa during the premiere episode “Spoils of War,” but it seems like she will have an important role to play as the season goes on, both in Cid’s life and in the clones' life. While not much is known about this character at this time, hopefully, we will get to learn more about her.
New episodes of The Bad Batch are released every Wednesday on Disney+.
