'PowerWash Simulator 2' Review

PowerWash Simulator 2 is the long-awaited sequel to PowerWash Simulator. You may be asking yourself, how on Earth is there a sequel to a game about powerwashing dirty objects? The answer is simple: it’s great to clean up stuff in video games, but not so much in real life, and if you’ve ever played the first game, or any game similar, then you’ll understand.
Gameplay
The gameplay is simple, but it has undergone drastic improvements from the first game. It’s much smoother to use the longer arms on the power washer, and easier to get dirt. It also seems to give you much more grace when it comes to completing sections, which is nice, especially when you’re trying to find that last small part of dirt. However, there are some instances where it’s the opposite, and you have to find every last piece of dirt on the object.
You also start with a longer arm and a pretty good power washer, unlike the first game, where you had to purchase all the upgrades. Don’t get me wrong, you still have to, but it’s nice to start with some. The best feature, in my opinion, is the new way soap is used. In the previous game, you would purchase different soaps depending on what you were clearing, and they would run out. In the sequel, while it’s still a bit limited, you get it back once you clear it away. There is no more purchasing soap, so it makes sense to use it all the time, especially for those harder stains.
Graphics
The game is very pretty, and the graphics have improved since the first one. That said, it’s still a very simple game, so the graphics don’t need to be amazing, and they definitely aren’t. It’s still great to look at.

Story
A story? In a game about powerwashing? It’s more likely than you think! The game takes place three years after the powerwasher prevented the eruption of the Mount Rushless volcano. The powerwasher and their friend return with a new business in Muckingham. Here, they take on various jobs from the people of Caldera County. Just like the first game, you get minor story points in the corner of the game, when townspeople will text you, with random stories they have.
Pros And Cons
As I said earlier, the game is a big improvement from the first one. My favorite updated feature is obviously the soap, and I love being able to use it all the time. The locations and vehicles you clean are also quite fun and all new. In one of the early levels, you clean a public square, which turns out to be an underground restroom, which raises, and you also clean that. This was such a cool feature that I haven’t seen utilized again, which is the same. Another thing is that sometimes the game gives you so much grace, and other times it makes you clean up literally everything of dirt, which can be annoying. Another great feature is the addition of your pet cats, which you can pet anytime you want, and get an achievement for. Not only that, they also accompany you on your various missions. You also have a home base, where you can see all of the things you have cleaned, and can even furnish it. There are plenty of easter eggs from the first game, too, in various levels, which is always fun to see.

Verdict
PowerWash Simulator 2 is a wonderful sequel that any fan of the first game will definitely enjoy. It improves a lot from the first game, while keeping it fresh and exciting with new locations and vehicles to clean. You also get to pet some cats, and who doesn’t like to do that?
