As we all know, you can never keep a good idea down.

The hit Smile films were something of a surprise. Both were major critical and commercial successes, easily making back several times their budget and receiving both audience and critical acclaim. With results like that, a third film was guaranteed. Speaking of, a third film is now in the works. The creator of the first two films, Parker Finn, won’t be involved this time, as he’s busy with his upcoming film Possession.

This time it’ll be helmed by David Bruckner and Nick Antosca, who are writing and directing, respectively. Both are well respected in the horror community for projects like The Ritual and Channel Zero, so the franchise is in good hands with them.

The film is scheduled for release on June 11th, 2027. So far, no plot or casting details have been revealed.
