Dune: Part 2 has wrapped up filming according to its star, Timothée Chalamet. Chalamet posted the news on Instagram. Filming took place on location in Abu Dhabi, Budapest, Italy, and Jordan. Dune: Part 2 is a continuation of 2021’s Dune which told the story of Paul Atreides (Chalamet), who sees visions and travels to a dangerous planet to save his family and, potentially, the rest of humanity. Dune was released to critical and popular acclaim. Dune was mostly concerned with building the world of its characters. There are no hard details yet for Dune: Part 2, but it is said to contain more action and Paul’s growth as a leader.

The sequel is being directed by Denis Villeneuve from a script by Villeneuve and Jon Spaihts. Besides Chalamet, it stars Austin Butler as Feyd Rautha,  Imola Gáspár as Old Watermaster, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot Fenring, Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV, and Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli. Although filming is done, there is still much to do before the film’s release from the soundtrack to the special effects and there will almost certainly be reshoots. The movie is set to hit theaters on November 3, 3023.
