Robert Pattinson told BAFTA that the script for The Batman: Part II has “an understanding of Bruce Wayne and Batman's psychology in a way that I don't think has been seen before.” Pattinson said he wants to keep playing the character even though he admitted that “I hadn't thought about any superhero movies. I've never auditioned for any. But it's a kind of universally acknowledged fact Batman is the coolest superhero by a million miles. If I was to do a superhero movie, I want to do that one." Filming on The Batman: Part II was paused in October after Matt Reeves stepped away for a family emergency, but after Steven Soderbergh stepped in, Pattinson confirmed that filming would resume within days. He’ll return to set to finish the remaining six weeks of production on Part II. Pattinson recently surprised fans at a London screening of his film Primetime, as he gears up to promote Dune: Part Three.

Pattinson admits Batman is a character who’s been explored a lot in comics and other source material. He says, “You know, when there's been hundreds and thousands of comics and so many different interpretations of the same character, and it's like it feels enormous but really unusual and unusual in a different way to the first one.” Writer and director Matt Reeves will stay in touch with Soderbergh from his UK home as filming on Part II winds up in the coming weeks. Matt Reeves will reportedly be back when the movie enters post-production. The Batman: Part II will hit theaters on February 18, 2028.
