Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness decided to take time out of his schedule to discuss a removed storyline concerning Hope van Dyne, a potential role for Jennifer Coolidge, and what comes for audiences in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty with The Hollywood Reporter.

Scrapped on the cutting room floor was a storyline where Hope, played by Evangeline Lilly, interacts with another Hope with long hair and two children. Loveness said, “There was Hope’s perspective on the multiverse as well, and possibility, and things like that. So you never know what might come back around in an Avengers movie down the road, but I can’t say too much more.”

Loveless is the writer for the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, slated for release in 2025. Jonathan Majors, who helms the role as the time-traveling Kang the Conqueror, has had numerous meetings with Loveness and the film’s director, Destin Daniel Cretton. “We’ve got a plan, and we’ve got a story, but the goal right now, without giving too much away, is to show the true versatility and passion that Jonathan Majors has…The big answer is that Kang is a legion. So let’s see what that legion is like, and let’s get great character performances from the best actor around right now,” Loveless says.

And Loveless discussed the brief idea to include Jennifer Coolidge in the film as Hank Pym’s quick flame when Janet van Dyne was stuck in the Quantum realm; “I don’t think it even made it into pages, but we wanted Jennifer Coolidge to be Linda for a brief moment…We will save her for next time. I’m sure she’ll wind up in the MCU sometime. She can be Doctor Doom.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is in theatres now.
