What is left for you to do when you have accomplished everything that you could possibly achieve?

For Ash Ketchum - or Satoshi as the forever 10-years old boy is called in Japan - this question arose when he became Pokémon Champion in early November. Or it rather emerged for the fans of the hugely popular anime series Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, of which Ketchum is the main character.

Ash's first adventure dates back to 1997. Now, 25 years later, he and his trusty companion Pikachu managed to do what no other had achieved before them; they won the Masters Eight Tournament of the Pokémon World Coronation Series, making the boy a World Champion as the best Pokemon trainer in the world.

While many fans celebrated the victory of Ash and his Pokémon over their opponent Leon, they also began to worry soon after if this victory could be his sendoff and if the current season would be his last.

But Hiraoka Risuke – the General Manager of the Anime Business Headquarters - now dispersed these fears, and it seems that Ash will stay on the show. In a tweet, he stated that Satoshi has a future in the series and that they would reveal further details in the near future.

Many have seen this as a confirmation that TV Tokyo - the original network of the series has long-term plans for Ash.

Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series is available on Netflix in the United States.
