Even though The Big Bang Theory ended back in 2019, it’s still getting multiple spinoffs. There was Young Sheldon, which told the story of Sheldon and his family, from when he was a child. George & Mandy’s First Marriage tells the story of Sheldon’s older brother, George, and his life with his first wife. A new spinoff has been announced, but this time, it doesn’t feature Sheldon or someone from his family and instead focuses on a recurring character from the original series.
HBO Max has ordered the new spinoff, Stuart Fails To Save The Universe, which will follow the character of Stuart Bloom, who is the owner of the comic book store the main characters would frequent in the original show. The plot will focus on Bloom and his friends' attempts to fix reality after they destroy a device created by Leonard and Sheldon, which had opened up the multiverse. The original cast is not signed on, but with the multiverse, anything can happen.
The series stars Kevin Sussman as Bloom, along with actors Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie, all of whom were recurring characters in The Big Bang Theory. Original series creator Chuck Lorre will executive produce alongside Zak Penn and Bill Prady.
