Bill Pullman, Lily-Rose Depp, & Indiana Elle Set To Star In Lorraine Nicholson's 'Playmates'

A highly anticipated directorial debut is coming to theaters from the studio behind Juno, The Shape of Water, and Jojo Rabbit! Lorraine Nicholson’s feature directorial debut Playmates has been picked up by Searchlight Pictures and has Bill Pullman, Lily-Rose Depp, and Indiana Elle set to star!

Playmates is a coming-of-age film centered on a 13-year-old girl named Elle, a nerdy girl who viewers the infamous Playboy Mansion as her second home. She meets Anna, a Playboy model who desires to be Playmate of the Month. As the young girl and the model form an unlikely friendship, they help the other try to obtain what the other wants. In 2017, Lorraine Nicholson wrote and directed the short film Life Boat, which received critical acclaim and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. In addition to making her feature directorial debut, Nicholson also wrote the screenplay for Playmates, based on her own childhood experiences in the Playboy Mansion.

Bill Pullman is best known for his roles as Lone Star in Spaceballs, President Thomas J. Whitmore in Independence Day, and Brian Plummer in The Equalizer franchise. He will play Hugh Heifner in the film. Lily Rose-Depp is best known for her roles as Colleen Collette in Yoga Catherine of Valois in The King, and Joclyn in Sam Levinson’s controversial HBO series The Idol. Depp has also established a frequent working relationship with Robert Eggers, starting with Nosferatu and will appear in Werwulf. A relative newcomer, Indiana Elle recently appeared in The Housemaid alongside Amanda Seyfried, Sydney Sweeney, and Brandon Sklenar.
