Charles Soule Reveals New Kylo Ren Comic Series To Be Released In August

We’ve seen the rise of Kylo Ren, we’ve seen his reign, and now, we’re going to see his fall starting August 12th, 2026.
Newly announced by Charles Soule, The Fall of Kylo Ren will follow on from the events seen in Legacy of Vader and how that series ended, to depict where Kylo Ren is when The Rise of Skywalker begins. This new series was first revealed in Soule’s email newsletter on May 15th, but a subsequent report by IGN and information from Marvel itself has since revealed more information.
The series, which will be five issues, will see Kylo Ren cutting through the plotting of General Hux and Allegiant General Pryde as Kylo takes a more active role as Supreme Leader. Tava Ren, the Knights of Ren’s current leader following Kylo and Snoke’s rejection of the wider group, who was seen in Legacy of Vader, is also going to make an appearance. Given how the Knights are following Kylo again in Episode 9, it seems likely she isn’t making it out of the miniseries alive.
In addition to writer Charles Soule, comic artist Will Sliney is reuniting with Soule after the pair worked together to create The Rise of Kylo Ren over half a decade ago, which inaugurated Soule’s now longstanding involvement with the character. Sliney has expressed excitement at the prospect of a return to the character alongside Soule, and fans should be excited as well.
While Soule hasn’t batted 1000 for everyone, he is still one of the strongest Star Wars creative voices with his impactful involvement in The High Republic and beyond, his comic contributions notable and well-received by many. We look forward to this new chapter in Kylo Ren’s story, and hopefully, we’ll get a bit more information on how all of this Renish activity links to other Sequel Trilogy storytelling, like Resistance and Path of the Lightsaber.
