Netflix announced in a Wednesday release that it is teaming up with AEG Presents to bring Netflix’s most-watched program, KPop Demon Hunters, to life through a global concert tour. Notably, the animated film amassed well over 500 million views on the streaming service. Additionally, this pop culture phenomenon earned its place in cinematic history through award accolades, including two Academy Award wins—one for Best Animated Feature Film, and the track “Golden” for Best Original Song. Additionally, it won a Grammy in the category of Best Song Written for Visual Media. This was the first win ever for the K-pop genre. The soundtrack, featuring the fictional girl group Huntrix, not only made history by topping the Billboard Hot 100, but they were the first female K-pop group to do it.
Given the well-received, highly reviewed animated film, it comes as no surprise that Netflix would be interested in taking the act on tour. Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, few details are available about what to expect. The concept is to give fans an arena-and-stadium tour experience that brings to life some of the fantastic elements from both the film and the record-breaking soundtrack. The real-life singers, EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, have been making the rounds over the past year to promote the film, even performing on stage at major events, including New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and the Academy Awards, not to mention making appearances on many of the popular late-night television shows. It’s unclear at this time whether they will participate in the tour, and if so, at what capacity. While tour logistics, such as cities, dates, and performer lineups, aren't available yet, the tour is slated to begin next year, in 2027, and hit 150 cities, with specifics expected to be confirmed later this year. For now, fans can sign up for the official Netflix waitlist to stay up to date on the latest details as they become available.
