Daisy Ridley Shares Her Excitement For Upcoming 'Star Wars' Project

Daisy Ridley has certainly been busy. Her latest movie, Magpie, is now being screened at SXSW, and the action-thriller Cleaner is in post-production, awaiting a release date. But, even having stepped out of the Star Wars universe to do these films, Ridley is eager to go back to the far, far away galaxy that started it all for her.

Making an appearance at SXSW to promote Magpie, Ridley was nevertheless asked questions about the upcoming Star Wars film, which is being directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. When Collider's Steve Weintraub asked Ridley if the name of the movie is going to be called New Jedi Order, Ridley responded, “I don't know! I mean, I think so. From the announcement, I don't think that's changed”. Ridley also admitted that she hasn’t read the script yet, but she said, “I know a script is happening, and I’m going to be reading it imminently, which is very exciting.” Explaining that the writer’s strike slowed down the process, Ridley predicted that the movie could begin shooting by the end of this year, stating, “the intention was later this year. Hopefully, it will be. Otherwise, top of next, I would imagine”.
