Daniel Radcliffe Not Returning For Max 'Harry Potter' Reboot

Daniel Radcliffe and Harry Potter

Harry Potter fans are pumped to learn of the new reboot series coming to Max and the possibilities that it brings to delve deeper into J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world. ComicBook.com caught up with Daniel Radcliffe recently to discuss a potential cameo from the original boy who lived. While supportive of passing the torch, the actor doesn’t intend to appear in the upcoming series currently. “My understanding is that they’re trying to very much start fresh and I’m sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it and probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere. So, I’m definitely not seeking it out in any way. But I do wish them, obviously, all the luck in the world and I’m very excited to have that torch passed. But I don’t think it needs me to physically pass it.”

Radcliffe has worked hard to avoid only being known for the Harry Potter franchise in work such as Imperium, Swiss Army Man, and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. Fans of the actor can catch him on the TBS TV Series Miracle Workers. Many fans may be sad to learn that Radcliffe is not expected to return for the reboot, but J.K. Rowling is on board as a producer, and that should offer solace in that the adaptation will remain true to the beloved novel series.
