Even though Critical Role has announced that their fourth campaign will no longer take place in Exandria, fans don’t have to worry about leaving the familiar world anytime soon. There will still be plenty of stories to tell in the world of Exandria, including a new comic in their The Legend Of Vox Machina: The Whitestone Chronicles comic series by Dark Horse. This time, however, the story will focus on Cassandra de Rolo.
The Legend Of Vox Machina: The Whitestone Chronicles serves as a prequel to the animated series, The Legend Of Vox Machina, on Amazon Prime. The first volume told the story of Dr. Anna Ripley and her involvement in the usurpation of Whitestone, which served as a key event in the Vox Machina campaign.
The next prequel story will focus on the story of Cassandra de Rolo, the younger sister of Vox Machina’s gunslinger, Percy de Rolo. She, alongside her brother, is the only survivor of their family’s massacre at the hands of Sylas and Delilah Briarwood.

The comic will tell the story of what happened to Cassandra after the murder of her family, and how the Briarwoods start to take care of her as one of their own. She is suspicious of their motives, but still adapts to this new life. She eventually becomes a guiding light of the rebellion that is trying to take back Whitestone. She vows to do what she can to help the rebellion, but with the ghosts of her past and the Briarwoods' brainwashing, it will be a challenge.
The Legend Of Vox Machina: The Whitestone Chronicles Volume 2-Cassandra sees the return of writer Marieke Nijkamp and artist Travis Hymel. The entire 80-page book goes on sale March 10th, 2026.
