Disney Confirms 'Zootopia 3'

Fans will be hopping for what they’ve been hoping for, as Disney confirmed Zootopia 3 is in the works. The series has been a smash hit among audiences, with the first movie grossing $1.02 billion and the sequel eclipsing that with a whopping $1.8 billion. While the sequel ended with a nod towards a threequel, those kinds of numbers likely solidified it.
Ke Huy Quan and Ginnifer Goodman shared the stage at D23 to celebrate the announcement. Goodman is confirmed to return as Judy Hopps for the new movie, yet Jason Bateman was notably absent from the stage. Still, USA Today reports that he will be reprising his role as Nick Wilde. Quan will also be returning as Gary DeSnake, who first appeared in the second movie. Whereas the sequel introduced reptiles to the world, the third will bring birds to the anthropomorphic metropolis.
Not much has been confirmed for the new movie aside from its existence and a few familiar faces, but its importance cannot be understated. Along with the announcement of Frozen III for 2027, these two movies will be the first franchises in Walt Disney Animation to receive a third installment.
