With the Super Bowl approaching, reports of who has adverts where have begun to crystalize, and in the world of entertainment, several of the big players are spending big, as always, to try and guarantee financial success for their various projects by getting as many American eyes on these upcoming releases.

The regulars are here, with Paramount a notable presence since they are broadcasting the football game through NBC/Telemundro/Peacock. Their own ad looks likely to be a spot at Scream 7, opening in just under two months at the end of February.

Disney, meanwhile, has multiple films coming soon, and probably has multiple spots accordingly. Animated films Hoppers and Toy Story 5, each releasing later this year, might be in the mix, while many more rumors swirl around some kind of spot for The Mandalorian and Grogu. Marvel, meanwhile, is rumored to be sitting the Super Bowl out, in a surprise move that might presage a considerable marketing campaign on Marvel’s own terms in the coming months as Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brave New Day release in the second half of this year.

Then, likely hoping that their mixed success with Super Bowl spots lands on the successful side, is Lionsgate. Previously buying a spot for The Hunger Games in 2012 and then Gods of Egypt in 2016, they are rumored to be bringing a trailer for Michael, the Michael Jackson biopic releasing in late April, to the sporting event

Lastly are trailers from Illumination Entertainment for their upcoming animated films, the Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Minions 3 alongside Universal’s notable live action offering this year, Disclosure Day.

Other studios not on this list may have cards hiding up their sleeves, though in recent years, many studios instead choose to drop trailers in the week leading up to the Super Bowl. Fans of many properties, actors and directors have a busy week ahead of them!
