Early Reception To ‘Andor’ Remains Well Received

Diego Luna as Cassian Andor in series premiere

After a long wait, Disney has dropped the first three episodes of Andor all at once for the series premiere. Based on the Rogue One character played by Diego Luna, Andor tells the story of the titular character’s life journey from a cynic to someone willing to die for the cause. Some people found it strange for Cassian Andor to get his own series partly because he seemed to be a one-and-done character as well as his similarities to Han Solo. With the early reviews coming out, however, it seems Andor has earned a good reception from both critics and audiences alike.

At the time of this article’s writing, Andor is sitting at 89% for critics and 79% for audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Not including The Book of Boba Fett, every Star Wars television show (live-action or animated) has received a score of 85% or better. While it is still early, it is an encouraging sign for the Star Wars Universe, especially on the television side of things. With seven television projects set to be released in the next year (including animated series), Disney hopes to continue its winning streak.

There are still nine episodes remaining of Season 1 of Andor, so there is plenty of time for opinions to change. However, it seems that Andor is another win for the House of Mouse thus far.

Check out a new episode dropping on Disney+ every Wednesday to see if Andor can continue its strong start.
