The third installment in Sony’s Venom franchise is set to begin production next month. Following the commercial success of the first two films and a cameo in No Way Home, it was only inevitable that Tom Hardy would agree to come back to round out a trilogy. This time, Hardy helped to co-write the script with Kelly Marcel, who wrote the first two films and will be directing the third. Now, word has come that Fabian Wagner will join the production as cinematographer.

Wagner is no stranger to working on comic book films, having been the cinematographer for Justice League and credited as one for Venom: Let There Be Carnage. His work has often been praised and recognized by multiple institutions. His work on Game of Thrones garnered him an Emmy nomination and an ASC Award and he continues to work with the franchise on its prequel series House of The Dragon

This announcement joins a previous report that Chiwetel Ejiofor, who played Baron Mordo in the MCU’s Doctor Strange films, and Ted Lasso star Juno Temple have been cast in unnamed roles. Sony has been trickling information out about the film, but those on screen and off are sure to have fans already excited. While no information has been released about the plot, Marcel’s inclusion in the project ensures that the film will look its best.
