The Super Mario Bros Movie is scheduled to be released on April 7, 2023.  So far, in anticipation of the movie’s release, two trailers and a scene from the movie have been released. In the trailers and in the scene released for the movie we have gotten a taste of what the Mushroom Kingdom will look like in the film.

In the clip, we see Toad played by Keegan-Michael Key escort Chris Pratt’s Mario throughout a town in the Mushroom kingdom on the way to Princess Peach’s castle. Throughout this brief journey, we see many familiar obstacles such as floating platforms and bricks from the popular video game series that inspired the movie.

Even though the scene is short as Mario and Toad race through town we are shown a lot of different features. We are exposed to multi-colored Toads, and an antique shop selling 8-bit keys, treasure chests, and many other things that fans of the Mario games will recognize. For a moment, Mario is memorized by the pipes in the Mushroom Kingdom before being sucked up on his way to Peach’s castle. While we do not see Princess Peach in this clip we do see the outside of her castle that fans will surely recognize from Super Mario 64. Overall, the clip does a good job of hyping fans for the movie that will be released in April.
