Filming For 'The Rings Of Power' Season 2 Began In Spain With Nori And The Stranger

Anticipation for the second installment of The Rings of Power is arguably already in full swing. Fellowship of Fans tweeted that filming has begun for Season 2 in Reserva Ambiental San Blas, Spain. This has The Lord of the Rings fans on the internet all abuzz since Season 1 was filmed primarily in New Zealand. Up until these photos surfaced from Spain, fans were only aware of Season 2 filming happening solely in the United Kingdom.

These images are strikingly beautiful. It is not hard not to see this as a part of Tolkien’s Middle-earth.

Heavy security surrounding the production limits any photo ops of the set as well as of the costumed actors and the filming crew. There are no official details as to how far the work has progressed for Season 2. However, Fellowship of Fans mentioned cast members like Markella Kavenagh (Elanor “Nori” Brandyfoot) and Daniel Weyman (“The Stranger”) have flown in recently.

With Nori and “The Stranger” heading to Rhûn at the end of Season 1, there is fan speculation that Reserva Ambiental San Blas could serve as the set for Rhûn. For everything else, fans will just have to wait to see where these adventurers’ noses lead them in The Rings of Power.
