Summer Game Fest announced plenty of games for fans to get excited for, including Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final installment in the remake trilogy. The game will release on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X/S, and PC, in Spring 2027.

The trailer shows the party venturing across a world without boundaries. The entire world can be freely explored, thanks to the iconic Highwind airship. Players can parachute and drop from anywhere, going easily from air to land. With so much to do, you have to divide and conquer, and decide who to help and in what order, as the planet fights for survival. Combat is customizable, allowing you to switch between real-time and tactical modes. The gameplay reveal trailer showed an in-depth look at new locations and playable characters. It also revealed the FITS system.

Not only was gameplay shown, but fans may have noticed that Sephiroth sounds a bit different. This is because his English VA has been recast from Tyler Hoechlin to Travis Willingham of Critical Role. No reason was given for this change, besides the comment that “the previous actor was not able to provide his voice for this role”.

New players can catch up before the release by playing the first two entries, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which are available on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
