After EA announced the premiere of an upcoming gameplay trailer for Star Wars Zero Company at Summer Games Fest, the showcase delivered, with a shortened trailer forming part of the presentation while a full trailer landed on YouTube at the same time.
Showcasing more details of ZCOM’s turn-based tactical gameplay, the trailer also revealed the broad scope of customization in the game. Operators, the term for the game’s various characters able to be created by the player, can be customized to be either Devaronians, Humans, Neimoidians, Ovissians, Togruta, Twi’leks, Weequay, or Zabraks, alongside what appears to be a range of fashion choices and visual customizations for their weapons. There are also astromech droids, able to be constructed with a wide variety of head domes.
It is likely that the species options will also be available for customizing the player character Hawks. Presented as a whiskered and grizzled human man on the posters and in this trailer, Hawks is still able to be shaped by the player as they want. There are also unique Operators, a bevy of supporting characters made up of various alien species, and there also appears to be the opportunity to recruit Clone Troopers into the army, for more white-armored soldiers beyond the unique Operator Clone named Trick, who has a history with Hawks.

The trailer further revealed a surprise appearance by Anakin Skywalker with the StarWars.com article stating he is “on a crucial mission, and his path briefly crosses with the Zero Company crew. Their intel and tactical expertise is just what he needs to get the job done.”
Wider messaging has also revealed the game’s release date as August 27th, 2026, with pre-orders now available for PC platforms, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Deluxe edition of the game also comes with a range of exclusive customizations. More news will surely be dropping soon, given the game is barely three months away from release, and we’ll be sure to provide updates as these reveal themselves.
