Quickly becoming one of the highest-grossing horror films of the year Five Nights At Freddy’s opened to a monster opening taking in $130 million in its opening weekend. This opening was much higher than many projections as the movie had been pegged to open at around $40 million.  The opening number is also impressive given the fact that the movie is also streaming for fans at home on Peacock.

The video game turned horror movie features a troubled young man who takes a job as a nighttime security guard at an abandoned theme restaurant. As he soon learns the job is not going to be as easy as it seems and he ends up working in a living nightmare.

Five Nights at Freddy’s is directed by Emma Tammi and written by Scott Cawthon, Emma Tammi and Seth Cuddeback.  The film stars Josh Hutcherson and Elizabeth Lail. The film will continue to garner attention as it plays in theaters and streams on Peacock.
