“Touchdown! Hit it, Marines!” Halo has just unveiled a new trailer. This time, it’s Halo: Campaign Evolved, another remake of the original Combat Evolved. The trailer, revealed on X, showcased the new graphics of the game, along with gameplay footage of Master Chief fighting against enemies. Other reports indicate that the game will retain its story campaign with new bonus missions, but will lack the original multiplayer in favor of four-player co-operative play during the story. Planned for a 2026 release date, the game will be launched on Xbox Series X|S, and surprisingly, PlayStation 5, a first for the series.

Halo is a series dating back to the year 2001. Originally developed by Bungie, Halo: Combat Evolved modernized the first-person shooter genre of games and became an early killer app for the Xbox console. Bungie would develop several sequels, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo Reach. After that, they split from Microsoft, leaving 343 Industries (now Halo Studios) in charge of the franchise. They would release many more games in the series, but the Bungie games are generally considered the best. 343 would release Halo: Anniversary, a 10th anniversary remake of the original game, in 2011. Campaign Evolved will thus be the second remake.
