In brightest day, in blackest night, there will be sweet music tonight! It’s officially been confirmed that award-winning composer Stephanie Economou will provide the score for the upcoming DCU series, Lanterns.

Economou began her career as an additional composer under Harry Gregson-Williams. Some of the most prominent scores she worked on include Ridley Scott’s The Martian, The Zookeeper’s Wife, and Niki Caro’s remake of Mulan. She began her solo-composing career with season 2 of the television adaptation of Step Up in 2019.

Since then, her most prominent credits include the Netflix series Jupiter’s Legacy, the Dreamworks film Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, and Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie. In 2023, Economou won the first-ever Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media for her score for Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok. Stephanie Economou will be only the second composer to score a live-action Green Lantern project, following in the footsteps of James Newton Howard, who scored the ill-fated 2011 film.

Lanterns is set to fly onto HBO and HBO Max on August 16th.
