Here's Everything We Know About Campaign 4 Of 'Critical Role'

Ever since Critical Role officially announced its fourth campaign at Gen Con this year, the fan base has had many questions. We know that Matt Mercer would not be returning to DM and instead would be a player. Brennan Lee Mulligan will be taking over the position of DM, and the story will also be set in a whole new world. However, a lot was left unanswered, such as whether they would use D&D or their system, Daggerheart. Who will be in the main cast? What can we expect from the upcoming campaign? All of these questions and more have been answered in a new update video.
First and foremost, the entire original cast is returning, so fans don’t have to worry about anyone taking a step back. That’s not all, however, because besides the eight original members, five familiar faces will be joining them, bringing the total around the table to thirteen players. While this seems like a lot, it will only be a full table for the first four episodes, and then it will break off into three smaller groups, whose stories will intertwine. The three parts will be divided into soldiers, schemers, and seekers. The cast will consist of Marisha Ray, Matthew Mercer, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, Liam O’Brien, Ashley Johnson, Sam Riegel, Taliesin Jaffe, Luis Carazo, Aabriya Iyengar, Robbie Daymond, Whitney Moore, and Alex Ward.

Not only was the cast revealed, but they also revealed that they will be sticking to Dungeons & Dragons, with the updated 2024 rules, and of course, some homebrew. Matt Mercer did tell fans, though, that Daggerheart isn’t going anywhere and will still be used in side projects. The world they will be exploring is called Aramán, which we don’t know too much about yet. Brennan, however, has shared some insight and how it has some similarities to Exandria when it comes to Gods and mortals and their relationships with each other.
Critical Role campaign 4 begins on October 2nd, and can be found on Twitch, YouTube, and Beacon.
