'Hocus Pocus 3' Is Coming With Bette Midler, Sarah Jeesica Parker & Kathy Najimy Returning

The witches are back… again. Hocus Pocus 3 is now officially in early development. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy are on board to reprise their roles as the Sanderson sisters. This comes after the success of Hocus Pocus 2 on Disney+, 29 years after the original movie. Midler had previously claimed that a script was ready, was good, but that "producers were working out ‘all those logistical things’ before they can return to complete the trilogy.” This presumably refers to budget and salaries, including those of Midler, Parker, and Najimy. It appears as though all those things have been settled by now.
The first Hocus Pocus was released in 1993. One Halloween Night in Salem, Massachusetts, three witches, Winifred (Bette Midler) Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mary Sanderson (Kathy Najimy) are resurrected centuries after their reign of terror, and seek to drain the life of children to become immortal. Max Dennison (Omri Katz), the boy who inadvertently brought them back to life, now has to fix his mistake with the help of his friends and a talking black cat. Hocus Pocus 2 picks up almost 30 years later, where the Sandersons are resurrected again by two teenage girls. This time, in addition to targeting children, they also seek vengeance on the descendants of the Reverend who banished them from Salem years ago.
