When it was announced that actor Keith David would be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he appeared surprised. He tearfully embraced his wife at the news and thanked all involved.
The modest veteran actor might have been shocked, but everyone else felt it was overdue. Keith Davis' career began in the early eighties when he was cast in a B movie that became a runaway hit. His knack for landing roles in cult movies stayed throughout his career. Platoon, Reality Bites, Roadhouse, Dead Presidents, There’s Something About Mary… the list goes on.
He moved into voice work as he got older, and he’s probably best known for playing the villain in The Princess & the Frog, but anime fans might recognise him as the narrator from the English dub of Princess Mononoke. He’s also the voice of the Arbiter in the Halo franchise.
Keith David took to X to react to fans afterwards. “What a surprise! Being blessed to get to do this for a living is enough for me; to be recognized for my contribution to the arts is the cherry on top,”
The recognition is well deserved, and we hope he enjoys his star.
