James Gunn And Peter Safran Are Still At Warner Bros. For Now

The movie industry is ever changing. Basically, unless you’re somebody with the star power of Walt Disney, any higher-up at a studio is subject to the whims of their bosses and, especially, the box office.
With the shaky theater attendance, rise of the streaming service, and the even more important rise of AI, among many other factors, people who were darlings for one studio aren’t always secure in their job. Nowhere does this show up more than the corporate merger.

With Paramount and Warner Bros. merging into Skydance, the usual shakeups are happening. The current film chiefs of Warner Bros., Pam Abdy and Michael De Luca, are getting their pink slips, but two powerhouse names are seemingly staying put for the moment. James Gunn and Peter Safran are still gainfully employed by the new studio. How long this will continue is anybody’s guess, but they should at least stick around for the upcoming Clayface film, releasing on October 23rd of this year, and certainly the upcoming Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow, set to come out in July of 2027.
Despite the ever changing tides of the movie industry, DC is still one of the reliable powerhouses in the industry. For now, two of its key players are staying right where they are.
